Device type not detected for Linux

The device type is not being queries for linux devices (except VMware VMs).

It looks like the code to query this was removed in d3fecc99. The commit message doesn't mention the logic change or why it may have happened.

Would it be possible to readd this logic? Setting the device type will help ensure enforcement policies can be properly applied, as well as improving security scores.
